First, I want to thank every homeowner who took the time to attend the Annual Meeting or submit a proxy. Your participation made a difference.
Unfortunately, we fell just short of reaching quorum.
This year, we had 40 homeowners represented, either in person or by proxy. We needed 42 to reach quorum. Because quorum was not achieved, the election could not proceed, the votes were not counted, and the current Board members will remain in their positions for another year.
While that’s disappointing, there’s also some very encouraging news.
This was one of the highest levels of homeowner participation our community has seen in years. Being only two votes away shows that more homeowners are paying attention, asking questions, and becoming involved in the future of Lake Griffin Estates.
Imagine what two more homeowners could have accomplished.
Next year, we have another opportunity.
If everyone who participated this year returns—and just a few more neighbors join us—we can reach quorum, have every vote counted, and give homeowners a real voice in the future of our community.
I also plan to run for the Board again next year. As many of you saw this year, I’ll once again be going door-to-door, meeting with neighbors, answering questions, and encouraging everyone to participate. Whether you support me or another candidate, the most important thing is that homeowners get involved and that our votes actually count.
Transparency, accountability, and homeowner participation only happen when we show up.
Let’s use this year’s momentum to make sure next year’s election reaches quorum.
Two more homeowners could make all the difference.
